About Me

Contractors Keep Us Sheltered

Look up at the ceiling over your head, and also think about the roof above it. You are lucky to have that shelter. Of course, you worked hard to afford it, but that point aside — someone else worked really hard to build it. Our point here is that without construction workers and contractors, we would not have homes in which to live. We all value our homes, and of course, we value the other buildings we spend time in, too. Everyone has a different way of showing their appreciation for this work. Our way is to write about construction on this blog. Your way could be reading about construction on this same blog!

Types Of Bathroom Fixtures

by Glenda Perkins

A bathroom is crucial in a home as this is where you take a shower, groom yourself, store bathroom supplies such as towels and even use the washroom. Therefore, the bathroom needs to have different fixtures for it to function accordingly. Typically, plumbing services install these plumbing fixtures by placing the fixtures in your home, and you can't move the fixtures quickly without renovation works. Here are important bathroom fixtures that should be present in your bathroom.

Bathtubs

Homeowners use bathtubs for bathing, and these bathroom fixtures provide an excellent way of unwinding. Ideally, you may consider a bathtub as a luxurious fitting, but the fixture is essential and can serve as your bathroom's focal point. Modern bathtubs come in various materials, such as acrylic and fiberglass, but you can still find wood or enamel placed over wood or iron. The tubs also come in various sizes and shapes, and you can choose an ideal size and shape that fits your bathroom. Additionally, you can have a bathtub in combination with a shower to save on space. Alternatively, you can have a freestanding bathtub if your bathroom is spacious.

Toilets

A toilet could be considered one of the most common bathroom fixtures. Closed-coupled toilets are standard bathroom fixtures and consist of a bowl with a cistern at the bowl's top. If you want to save space in the bathroom, you need to ensure that the toilet fully backs your bathroom wall. Alternatively, you can install a wall-hung toilet that has a tank and bowl in the wall. These toilets give your home a modern feel, and cleaning the toilets is much easier than closed-coupled toilets. Additionally, different toilet designs exist, such as the sitting, squatting, and the Anglo-Indian type, which is a combination of the sitting and squatting toilet. The main toilet fittings include a tissue holder that dispenses tissue or a health faucet that you can use to clean up after using the toilet.

Shower Cubicles

A shower cubicle is among some of the many essential bathroom fixtures and contains a shower head that releases water down your body. This plumbing fixture comes in different sizes, and you should choose one depending on your bathroom's space. For instance, you can have the cubicle in the center of the bathroom if your bathroom is large or at the corner of the bathroom to save on space. Additionally, the cubicles come in various materials, but glass enclosures are ideal due to their durability, ease of cleaning, and excellent view.

Toilets, bathtubs, and shower cubicles are essential bathroom fixtures. Consider these fixtures when carrying out bathroom installation or renovation projects.
